This is only my second graphic novel, and I stumbled upon it completely by accident. I picked it out for my nine-year-old brother, before realizing it was probably too mature for him at his tender age. I decided to "preview" it for him, and ended up being sucked in by the whole story and format. There is something so compelling about graphic novels, and the way they bring the excitement and suspense of live action into a storybook format. And of course there is Batman himself, violent, explosive, conflicted, but always fighting for a greater purpose, fighting to bring order into his darkly criminal view of the world--a true Dark Knight.
